Deep space. Billions of miles from Earth, Rosetta, a spacecraft the size of a car, travels towards an icy rock 2.5 miles wide that hurtles through space at tens of thousands of miles per hour. Rosetta has been in space for ten years but in the next few days she will do something no other spacecraft has ever attempted: land on the volatile surface of a comet as it flies round the sun. This is the European Space Agency's (ESA) most audacious mission. It has taken a team of brilliant engineers 30 years to get to this point. The mission has been beset with daunting technological challenges, faulty launch vehicles, and the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the comet itself, all of which have conspired to stop the mission in its tracks. If it works, Rosetta is guaranteed to provide a treasure-trove of scientific data, but make no mistake about it, this is a dangerous mission. The rewards may be huge but so are the risks.

More than two million men and women serve in America's all-volunteer military force, and another three million are their husbands, wives, sons, and daughters. With unprecedented access and filmed over 14 months, The Homefront creates a series of intimate portraits--following families through the difficulties of deployment, the joys of homecoming, and the challenges of reintegrating as a family after many months apart. In The Homefront, viewers meet a cross-section of America's military community: Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen, some in the active duty force, and some in the National Guard and Reserve. Representing many ranks, and drawn from across the country, these families illustrate what it means to serve. The military lifestyle is one that most Americans will never experience. But as The Homefront makes clear, now more than ever it is important to understand these families and their story. This revealing two-hour documentary presented by Bob Woodruff, tells stories of pride and patriotism, sacrifice, and resilience.

On April 30, 1970, President Richard Nixon shocked the nation by announcing the U.S. invasion of Cambodia. At college campuses across the country, masses of students took to the streets in protest. Five days later, four Kent State students would be shot dead by National Guardsmen. The mayhem that followed has been called the most divisive moment in American history since the Civil War. The Day the 60s Died chronicles the chaotic month of May 1970, when it seemed America was at war with itself. From the students and guardsmen who witnessed the Kent State shootings to a young G.I. in the Cambodian jungle, how did the events of that turbulent spring affect who these people became? How have the shockwaves from these events reverberated into the present? During May 1970, frustration and anger split American society apart and we still live in the aftermath of that rift. The Day the 60s Died is an important story to be told now as our nation grapples with the growing divide in how Americans see their nation and each other.

As recently as September, President Obama was pointing to Yemen as a model for the U.S.'s counter-terrorism strategy. But now, the country -- which is home to one of Al Qaeda's most powerful branches -- is being torn apart in a violent sectarian conflict, led by an anti-American rebel movement, known as the Houthis. With the Yemeni president ousted from the capital, and Saudi Arabia leading a coalition of regional forces against the Houthis, FRONTLINE in conjunction with BBC Arabic brings this special report from inside the war zone. Who are the Houthis -- and what does the chaos and instability mean for the region, the U.S., and the global fight against terrorism? Continuing FRONTLINE's on-the-ground coverage from Yemen, reporter Safa Al Ahmad was granted extremely rare access to the Houthis as they advanced. She has been one of the few reporters for a Western news organizations on the ground, and in The Fight for Yemen, she delivers a dramatic look at the conflict as it has been building.

Telling emotional stories that haven’t been heard before, Vietnam War veterans recount their experiences in this one-hour television documentary. Vietnam War Stories presents a portrait of the war told entirely from the perspective of veterans, who reflect on their memories of the conflict from five decades ago. For many service members, these experiences still feel like they happened yesterday. Members of the U.S. Army's 23rd Division share a moment of camaraderie in the field in 1969. More than 100 veterans from all branches of the U.S. armed services were interviewed by producer Mik Derks for the program. They share moving stories of triumph and loss in the field of duty, of sacrificing nearly everything on the battlefield, and of the strong bond of brotherhood and companionship in the ranks. Archival video, historical photography and maps evoke the stark imagery of the war alongside the veterans’ stories. This is not the story of the Vietnam War, but of the men and women who went to Southeast Asia to serve their country. In the voices of a few resonate the stories — each unique, each profound — of the three million who served, the ones who didn’t return and those who passed away before their stories could be told.
